TEACHING / DIRECTING / MENTORING

Adina has been teaching and directing for decades, providing access to theatre, music, and improv performance to people of all ages. She specializes in providing tools for better listening, truthful choices, and commitment, within any of the art forms she teaches. With extensive training and work experience that crosses over to multiple art forms, she is able to provide a very rich and versatile set of tools to her students.

She has created drama, musical, improv, and video theatre programs where she both taught classes privately and directed shows. She has been hired as the teacher and director for many children’s drama programs. Adina has also built curricula and has coached various improv comedy and musical improv programs for adults. In addition to teaching, Adina has worked for many years as a councillor, mentor, and leader on group trips and events for all ages. Since 2022, she has been the Artistic Mentor at the Segal Centre’s Jewish Arts Mentorship (J.A.M.) program.

Aside from operating privately, some clients, theatres, and schools she currently works with or has worked for in the past, include: McGill University (teaching Acting for Voice in the Schulich School of Music), The Segal Centre for the Performing Arts’ Academy (“Broadway Stars,” “Broadway and Beyond,” and “YAYA: Young Actors for Young Audiences”), The Saidye Bronfman Centre’s Camp of the Arts, Montreal Improv Theatre, Theatre Sainte-Catherine, The English Montreal School Board, Geordie Theatre School, The Bronfman Jewish Education Centre, Canada Israel Experience Centre, Y Country Camp, The Jewish People’s Schools and Peretz Schools, and Solomon Schechter Academy.

Some of the shows she has directed include: Little Shop of Horrors, The Princess Bride, Clue, Annie, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Wizard of Oz, Alice in Wonderland, The Snow Queen, How Birds Sing, and many more, including original productions that were created and workshopped as ensemble pieces or jukebox musicals. “I Kid you Nosh!” that she wrote and directed, as part of the Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre at the Segal Centre for the performing Arts. She has been the director and co-curator of the annual DWYT’s Chanukah singalong production of Lyrics & Latkes since 2023, performed at the Segal Centre. She was also the director, projection designer, and dramaturg for the Yiddish staged reading of Death of a Salesman (Toyt fun a Seylsman). Coming up in January 2026, she will be directing and co-curating the Dorshei Emet’s Shabbat Shira production, which will explore Jewish composers’ work on Broadway; a collection of songs will be performed with inspiring text to provide insight and framing for the collection presented. She is regularly directing musical improv comedy shows in her Musical Improv Montreal program, where there are ongoing classes and performances.
